When was this site founded
Varsityedge.com was founded in February of 2001

What is the goal of the site
The goal of varsityedge.com is to provide parents, student-athletes, and coaches with information on the college recruiting process and many other topics that relate to athletics both at the high school level and college level. As you can see on our left-hand navigator, we cover a variety of topics that all aid in the recruiting and college application process and even beyond.

How often is the site updated
Varsityedge.com has a set of core articles and sections that do not change. We update the site weekly with news on different colleges and college athletics as the news happens. We also update the site with new articles from time to time as well as new links to other sites we think are of value.

Can I link to Varsityedge.com
Absolutely, please visit our links page to see some of our icons and to retrieve html code you can use on your own site. Links Page

Does this site have any sponsors?
No, the site is free of any sponsorship and banner advertising at this time and generates no revenue, aside of book sales. If you like our site and are involved in the college recruiting process as a parent, student, coach or guidance counselor, we highly recommend you take a look at The Making of a Student-Athlete, our 310 page college athletic recruiting guide.

Is the recruiting process really that hard?
It can be, especially if you do not understand how the process works, how to select programs and schools, and how to contact coaches and find the best fit for you.

What recruiting information will I find on NCAA.org
You will find basic recruiting rules and regulations and some questions to ask when visiting a coach or school. You will not find practical information, however, on contacting coaches, resume writing, video making, skill evaluation, or advice on how to select different programs and schools. There information is built around rules and they do not really get involved in the practical side of recruiting.

I see you have a recruiting guidebook?
Our book, The Making of a Student-Athlete, was created because we saw several voids that needed to be filled (1) There were still thousands of parents, students, and coaches who were seeking more and more information on the college recruiting process. (2) There are virtually no other web sites that offer comprehensive recruiting information. (3) Many other books on the market, are quite poor, out of date, and don't address many of the issues we have chosen to write about.
